How to Install SCCM agent on Workgroup Computers and Manage Them

Currently in most of the organizations has domain connected as well as workgroup connected PCs. So the question comes in to mind, how can we manage both parties using ConfigMgr. We know that the domain connected machines can easily manage through ConfigMgr server. But what about Workgroup Machines?  In this blog post using the Video clip which I have recorded using my lab setup, I am  going to show you guys how to manage workgroup/ DMZ computers using Configmgr 2012. To manage the Workgroup device we must modify few settings in lmhost and host files on both sccm server and workgroup computers. So just have a look.

 

Note:In case If you have any kind of Name resolution issues, Please add the Management point details and rest of the Distribution Point (DP) information in to the hosts file.
